Collective Pulse: from breath to chorus

Starts 16 Oct

Service Description

This 2 hours workshop brings together two methodologies in approaching chorus: Jacques Lecoq’s physical theatre and Theodoros Terzopoulos’ approach to ancient drama. Participants will explore how ensemble dynamics, rhythm, and play intersect with breath, resistance, and the ritual body to unlock a visceral and embodied understanding of the contemporary chorus. Through guided movement, voice, and text explorations, the group will reimagine fragments of Greek tragedy of Bacchae and Antigone finding new ways to connect myth with contemporary performance. In particular we will explore: • Train in chorus-based movement and ensemble awareness. • Work with breath, voice, and physical intensity. • Devise a short scene of original performance inspired by text of Bacchae and Antigone. No prior experience required—just curiosity and readiness to work physically. 📍 Theatre Deli, @theatredeli 107 Leadenhall Street, London, EC3A 4AF Thursday, 16th of October, 4pm - 6pm Cost: £30 2 bursaries available.
